The Cambodia Sustainable Intensification Farmer-to-Farmer Project (F2F) is implemented by the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture (UTIA) in partnership with the Center of Excellence on Sustainable Agricultural Intensification and Nutrition (CE SAIN) at Royal University of Agriculture (RUA). The F2F Project will increase the productivity of food systems through demand-driven technical exchanges around vegetable, fruit and livestock value chains.
Background

We are recruiting a short term (14days) position to provide Soil Health Improvement technical assistance to CE SAIN Agricultural Technology Park (ATP) in Siem Reap is one of CE SAIN’s ATP, which has three main missions as following (i) to introduce a model considered adaptable by smallholder farmers in the area; (ii) to demonstrate various promising technologies and strategies based on individual context to showcase best management practices on agriculture; (iii) to offer many learning and sharing purposes such as: a learning platform, a farmer-research site, internship venue, synergy program with USAID funded Partners, and Private Sector Engagement Platform.

Position Title : Soil Heal Improvement National Expert/Specialist
Location : Siem Reap province
Reporting : F2F Project Coordinator
Citizenship : Cambodian
Stiped : 60$/day and related expenses (Accommodation and phone card based on actual expenses)
Contract : 14days
Summary:
Soil Health Improvement technical assistance to CE SAIN Agricultural Technology Park (ATP) in Siem Reap is one of CE SAIN’s ATP, which has three main missions as following (i) to introduce a model considered adaptable by smallholder farmers in the area; (ii) to demonstrate various promising technologies and strategies based on individual context to showcase best management practices on agriculture; (iii) to offer many learning and sharing purposes such as: a learning platform, a farmer-research site, internship venue, synergy program with USAID funded Partners, and Private Secotr Engagement Platform.
Specific roles and responsibilities:
- Travel and work in Siem Reap province for 14 working days
- Communicate with US volunteer virtually to design and prepare for the Soil Health Improvement technical materials
- Provide Soil Health Improvement’s technical assistance which is translated in Khmer to the host organization
- Work Closely with Host Organization to organize trainings and meetings
- Complete all the required reports to F2F Project
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in agricultural field or current graduated students
- Experience/background in Soil Health Improvement
- Experiences working with Farmer Organization and/or Non-Governmental Organization or Agricultural education
- Ability to communicate in English virtually with U.S expert
- Intermediate or higher proficiency in English
