Laing Thyda first joined CE SAIN as Development Manager in May 2019 and was promoted to Program Manager in April 2020. She is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the program and serves as liaison with donors and the primary contact for donors and responds to the need of donors as per request. She monitors the implementation of all program activities, ensures that they are aligned with work plan, and meet the objectives and goals of the center and against the approved budget. She collaborates with the Development Manager to strengthen engagement with development partners and the private sector at the local and national level. Also, she synthesizes information and prepare reports highlighting accomplishments and is responsible for timely submission to donors.
Thyda earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology and Engineering from the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP), Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Communication from the Institute of Foreign Languages (IFL), and Master’s Degree in Development Management from Norton University (NU). Before joining CE SAIN, she worked with Hagar International Foundation since 2008, and in that time, she has progressed to become a Monitoring and Evaluation Manager. Thyda’s role enables her to participate in M&E at every stage from proposal writing including logframe and indicator development, through to routine monitoring, project delivery and compliance on project management cycle, and finally full program evaluation. Thyda started her role as Hagar’s Senior Management Team in 2016 where she contributes in the decision making process at the programme level.
