Ms. Ouk Keorimy serves as a Project Officer for the Foodborne Pathogen on the vegetable project of the Center of Excellence Sustainable Agricultural Intensification and Nutrition (CE SAIN). She earned her Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Agro-Industry from the Royal University of Agriculture. Presently, she is a first-year Master’s degree student in Food Science and Technology at the Royal University of Agriculture.
Prior to joining CE SAIN, Rimy had worked as the Research Assistant in Cambodia Laboratory of Agricultural Product and Food Department of Agro-Industry at the Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) from 2017-2019, and then she becomes the Project Officer of Bacterial Contamination in Fresh Vegetables: Focusing Intervention in Cambodia, Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Food Safety at Royal University of Agriculture.
As the Project Officer at CE SAIN, Rimy is responsible for direct communication with the project leader at Kansas State University and Purdue University to implement the activities for investigating the contamination of specific pathogens within vegetable value chains, including identifying likely points of contamination, transmission pathways, and persistence. She works closely with Purdue University to assess current levels of awareness of food safety practices in statistically representative groups at the farm and distribution centers and market level to identify types of intervention on food safety gaps for increased likelihood of adoption, practicality, and efficacy. In CE SAIN, She also performs administrative tasks, documenting compliance with CE SAIN policy and allocating budget with respect to project activities.
