The CE SAIN Agricultural Extension Program (CE SAIN-AEP)
The CE SAIN-AEP serves as a platform that facilitates the access of farmers, academia, private sector and other agricultural market actors to knowledge, information, technologies and innovations to ensure the dissemination of current best agricultural management practices and innovations. CE SAIN-AEP is aimed primarily at improving their agricultural knowledge and practices based on the application of scientific research and innovations. The program provides the means to transfer agricultural technologies and innovations to farming communities, interact with partners in research, education, agribusiness and other relevant stakeholders and assist farming communities in problem-solving to increase agricultural productivity in an environmentally sustainable manner. It acts as a catalyst to speed up adoption rate of agricultural technologies and innovations and to control the continuation of diffusion process in farming communities through field demonstration, trainings, field days and development of good and understandable agricultural extension materials to raise awareness about new practices and motivate farming communities to improve current practices for sustainable agricultural intensification and nutrition. The program plays a starring role in agricultural and rural development efforts and to rationalize the use of public resources in support of agricultural services.
